Purchase & Delivery Information


We accept credit card and EFT payments and cheques after our bank has cleared them.

A pro forma invoice will be e-mailed or faxed to you, and then you may phone or e-mail, to advise us of payment.

The goods will then be shipped by your arranged transport.

Prices: Prices may vary from prices on the web, please check with SIOS and obtain current quotation. We endeavor to keep prices up to date, were possible.

Prices do not include freight or GST unless stated.


We use:

  • Australia Post, Express post, etc.
  • TNT road transport
  • Fastway Transport pre paid system.


If equipment purchased is found to be not suitable, or Purchaser has ordered incorrect goods, the Purchaser must request a RMA (Returned Materials Authority) before returning to Scientific Instrument & Optical Sales.

Please note that no goods should be returned to Scientific Instruments without prior authorization.

An RMA must accompany all return goods along with

  • a copy of the original invoice
  • full contact details
  • all information  explaining reason for return

No claims regarding incorrect goods etc., will be recognized without the RMA.

Freight charges for the return are at Customers expense. Forward freight will not be reimbursed.

Goods returned under $1,000.00 will incur a 20% restocking fee on the sale value of the goods.

Goods over $1,000.00 will incur a 10% restocking fee.

New product returns with damages to packaging will not be accepted by us, and will incur further charges at the discretion of S.I.O.S.

Purchased equipment needs to be returned, in same condition as supplied.

All goods, accessories and packaging returned must be in “pristine as new condition” for the item to be resaleable.

The restocking fee helps pay costs of packaging material, labeling and sending.

Products sold on a non-returns basis are excluded. i.e sale priced goods.


Software faults – S.I.O.S. must be given 30 days to correct problem. This does not cover computer types that are not supported by the software, or if user upgrades to newer platforms that are not supported by the hardware.


Please contact SIOS and obtain a RMA and return the goods.  If deemed faulty by SIOS, then return the goods for repair or replacement.

All Warranties are “Return to Store Policy”, i.e. customer must pay for freight to and from, or bring in the equipment to SIOS for warranty repairs.
