U-2810

The U-2810 is the newest generation of Hitachi’s low cost UV-Vis spectrophotometers. Over a span of forty years, this UV-Vis spectrometer family has evolved to the premier U-2810. This instrument can be used for most research, routine, and teaching laboratory applications around the globe. This highly dependable instrument, designed with the latest in technology, meets the demanding specifications needed for today’s analyses. Features

  • Simple and dependable
    Features, such as auto source change, provides the correct source lamp at the proper time when moving from one range to another and can be selectable by the user. The only moving part in the system is the grating keeping the system low in redundancy. Using less mechanical parts makes this system highly dependable.
  • High energy optical system
    Designed using the high resolution Seya-Namioka monochromator, a concave grating which eliminates chromatic aberrations. This design eliminates two additional optical surfaces and the associated energy loss due to these optics, thus providing the user with a simpler yet energy efficient system. Less optics provides the user with two large benefits, higher signal to the detector providing very low noise levels and a very dependable yet simple designed system.
  • High resolution and performance in a medium priced system
    While most systems in this category are fixed at 2 nm’s or larger, the high resolution optical bench of the U-2810 provides a fixed resolution of less than 1.5 nm’s meeting all European Pharmacopeia’s requirements. The European Pharmacopoeia requires that the maximum/minimum ratio obtained by measuring 0.02% (v/v) solutions of toluene in hexane shall be 1.5 or larger. The U-2810 exceeds this standard as it ensures a ratio of 1.6.
  • Focused beam geometry
    This double beam system focuses the beam where it provides the best benefit regardless of the type of sample cell used. This design provides the best reading possible whether using long path cuvettes or samples as small as 50l. By using micro beam design technology, the maximum amount of energy is readily available allowing for high scale expansion for trace analysis of compounds when needed.
  • Self aligning lamps
    The simple, yet efficient design provides for easy routine maintenance, such as lamp replacement. Both UV and Visible lamps are designed to be removed and replaced in a matter of minutes. Alignment is not required as the lamps are prealigned and focused automatically in the mounts. Quick changeover provides for more up time and higher productivity in the lab.
  • UV Solutions(R) software
    This highly intuitive software package provides communication to the instrument, as well as, data processing functions featuring a full array of mathematical calculations that may be required in today’s labs. Although simple and to use, this practical software can control as many at two systems, running in real time, from the same PC. Functions include method setup and storage of analysis ranging from Photometry, Time Studies, Ratios, Wavelength Program and Scanning functions. Data is readily transferred to either Microsoft(R) Word or Excel providing users with a speedy and simple way to customize data and produce custom reports.
